RoN Partners:

RoN’s Partners are a special group of RoN supporters who, over a number of years, have provided us with wise counsel, faithful financial support, and a variety of networking opportunities. We introduce them to you with deep gratitude:

Larry Collett Former CEO, Cass Information Systems

"I support Refuge of Nations because America has always been a nation that embraces those who choose to migrate here in pursuit of a better life. RoN meets them ‘head on’ to greet them with the love of God and to offer a hand of support and hope, while connecting all Involved in the ministry with the teachings of Christ in Matthew 25.”

Donald Guthrie Vice President for Academics, Covenant Theological Seminary

“My family and I appreciate how RoN advances God’s restorative mission of love, mercy, and justice to those from other nations in our midst. RoN wonderfully represents the Lord Jesus Christ, the ultimate refuge and ever-present help in times of struggle. RoN also thoughtfully equips its ministry partners to walk with immigrants and refugees as they adapt to a new country, city and home.”

Linda Johannsen, Retired Resource Teacher, Kirk Day School
Fred Johannsen, Retired Director of Corporate, Toxicology, Monsanto & Solutia

"In a seemingly unprecedented way, the Lord is bringing the ‘world’ to St. Louis and Refuge of Nations is in a unique position to facilitate the dissemination of God’s grace and mercy to those in need. We support RoN because it ministers to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of these newcomers to the US.”

Randy Mayfield, Director of Missions & Outreach, Central Presbyterian Church

“God has brought people from many nations to us in St. Louis, and what’s so wonderful about Refuge of Nations is that they are ministering to them in tangible ways. Central Presbyterian Church feels privileged to partner with RoN in this work of reaching out to immigrants and refugees who need help in adjusting to life in the States and who need to hear the hope of the Gospel in Christ.”

Lillian Werner, Licensed Professional Counselor, Crossroads Christian Counseling

“Refuge of Nations’ counseling services offer hope, opportunities, and healing to people who have survived extraordinary circumstances and who have tremendous gifts and potential to bring to their families and communities. For many, the counseling is their first window into the grace of God. I am pleased to be associated with RoN’s counseling services.”

Brad Werner, Pastor, Gateway to Grace Fellowship

“Gateway to Grace Fellowship supports RoN because we desire to experience a little bit of heaven on earth. We believe that the blood of Jesus has ‘purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation (Rev.5:9b),’ and that there is no better way to see this vision come to reality in St. Louis than through RoN.”

Kathie Chambers, M.Ed., Project Manager, Center for Business, Industry & Labor,
St. Louis Community College

“How can you measure the joy that replaces profound sadness or the sense of belonging and hope that replaces loneliness and despair? Refuge of Nations wraps Christ's arms of love around immigrants and refugees, and lives are changed. Forever. As a community, RoN meets the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the hurting and sometimes forgotten among us. Ironically, there are a great number of heroes among those being served - so much so that we are ultimately the richer for knowing them. Many of these heroes have survived war, famine, torture, and separation from their families in addition to the loss of their cultures, identities, incomes, and possessions. I consider it a personal privilege to support R.O.N. and ask that you join me in helping them sustain their important work.”

“Plan C:
Bread & Manna”

It was quite clear that Plan A had failed only 30 minutes after start time. I had been enjoying catching up on administrative work with a leisurely cup of coffee when I received a call from a student volunteers saying “no one is home at our place of service.” I shifted gears quickly and sped out the door to meet the students nearby...

“Mexican Hebrew”

Last Wednesday evening, we explored the story of Senor Perez in our Refuge of Nations’ community group. Our Hispanic friends were amused that a Hebrew man, mentioned in the Book of Ruth, possessed a common Mexican surname. The humor wasn’t lost on the Africans, Iraqis, Americans, and Nepalese present either....
