Directions to Tower Grove Park - All directions given use the St. Louis Metropolitan Interstate system.

FROM MISSOURI The easiest and quickest route is to follow one of the interstates/highways to the Park.

South County Area

  • Take I-55 north to I-44.
  • Take exit # 288 named “Grand Ave Exit”.
  • When exiting the interstate, make a left at the stop sign onto Lafayette. At the first stoplight, make a left onto Grand (heading south).
  • You will immediately pass over I-44 and The Compton Heights Water Tower is on your left.
  • Turn right into the Park at the Main Entrance.

North County & West County Areas

  • Take I-270 or I-170 to Highway 40/I-64 East.
  • Head east on Highway 40/I-64 and take the exit named “Grand Ave Exit”.
  • When exiting the interstate, make a left at the stop light onto Grand (heading south).
  • You will pass over I-44 and The Compton Heights Water Tower is on your left.
  • Turn right into the Park at the Main Entrance.

FROM ILLINOIS The most direct route to Tower Grove Park is to take the Poplar Street Bridge from Illinois.

  • Cross the Poplar Street Bridge into Missouri and follow the signs for Interstate 55/44.
  • At the I-55 and I-44 split, stay right and follow I-44. (You are now heading west)
  • Take exit # 288 named “Grand Ave Exit”.
  • When exiting the interstate, make a left at the stop sign onto Lafayette. At the first stoplight, make a left onto Grand (heading south).
  • You will immediately pass over I-44 and The Compton Heights Water Tower is on your left.
  • Turn right into the Park at the Main Entrance.

It was quite clear that Plan A had failed only 30 minutes after start time. I had been enjoying catching up on administrative work with a leisurely cup of coffee when I received a call from a student volunteers saying “no one is home at our place of service.” I shifted gears quickly and sped out the door to meet the students nearby...

Our Hispanic friends were amused that a Hebrew man, mentioned in the Book of Ruth, possessed a common Mexican surname.
